TEACHING
In Person lessons
I offer in-person lesson in the comfort of your own home, within a 5 mile radius of Woking. I alternatively can offer online lessons.
To ensure that we make a positive start, I like to discuss you or your child's aims and prior experience via phone call or text prior to the first lesson, so that we can develop a tailored programme that suits your/their interests.
I am responsive to your queries between lessons, and aim to always get back to you within 24 hours to make sure that you are supported on your learning journey.
I am committed to making sure lessons are fun and inspiring, whilst also providing a broad musical education that strengthens core musical skills and enables students to get the most out of their musical experiences. We will focus on your/your child's particular musical interests, whilst simultaneously covering exercises designed to improve technique and theoretical understanding.
What I Can Offer
I aim to develop versatile and adaptable musicians, with a well rounded understanding of music and strong technical foundation. For you to get the most out of music, I am keen to help you develop the skills to continue your own independent learning journey, so that you can approach new challenges and musical situations such as ensemble playing and performance with confidence.
Among the core areas that students will focus on are music theory, technical studies, fretboard harmony knowledge, rhythm, ear training and improvisation. We may also work towards grade exams if desired. For those students at a more advanced level, we may also cover jazz harmony, advanced improvisational concepts and composition.
I am experienced with teaching students of varied ages and abilities. My students range from primary school-aged children taking their first steps in music, through to adult beginners, as well as those with many years of playing experience - I have also taught professional musicians looking to work on more specialised areas of study relating to jazz music.
